Spring is a resurrection of many things: The world around us comes to life, and it’s difficult not to feel a burst of energy. Let’s tap into the brilliance of the liturgical season of Easter and do some “spring cleaning” in four areas of family life.
Spring cleaning and Easter newness
Saint Isidore of Seville • Saint stories
How would you like to have your older brother for a teacher, like St. Isidore did? Unfortunately, his older brother wasn’t a very kind teacher, so Isidore ran away. Online, you can read about what happened next, and find an activity to help you learn more about St Isidore.
St. Faustina and Divine Mercy
Pope St. John Paul II had a particular devotion to St. Faustina and established Divine Mercy Sunday, which is celebrated each year on the Sunday one week after Easter Sunday. There’s more in today’s post.
Keep Christ at the center of your Easter table
Candles, lilies, sweet breads, lamb — which of these Easter symbols will be on your table? Find out their significance in today’s post.
Carrying the light of Easter
Oh, is there no greater joy to be felt than every Easter when we read of the stone being rolled away and the angels declaring, “He has risen!”. As we leave Mass on Easter morning, perhaps the sun is shining on us. Maybe the early birds have returned from their winter away, flitting and calling among the open branches. Some of us may jump over puddles of melted snow on our way to our cars or homes, thankful for warmer days. Maybe you are holding your child’s hand as you walk and wonder how you could make this joyful moment last forever. Talk About It: How do you carry the light of Easter with you throughout the year?
