St. Paul of the Cross is founder of the Passionists order, whose mission is to “keep alive in the world the love of Jesus Crucified as seen in His Sacred Passion.” Born Paolo Francesco Danei on January 3, 1694, in Ovada, Italy, he was one of 16 children, but only six survived infancy.

St. Paul founded his order on the belief that, “The world lives unmindful of the sufferings of Jesus which are the miracle of miracles of the love of God.” Read his biography here.
